Im playing as Philadelphia Union in the MLS. I wanted to play as something alittle different and plus I really only want to play as teams who have never won a trophy or who havernt won in like 50+ years lol just so I can be the first guy to lead them to glory lol.

But anyways Im in my second season and well I wish my team was playing better. Sébastien Le Toux is out of form but has been injuried though out the season. Danny Califf is my rock in defence and I hate that his almost 33 yrs old. Freddy Adu is a star and Sheanon Williams is developing well and hopefully be a star.

Not a bad price for a potentially better than Steven Gerrard.

Any chance of a screenshot of his stats?

Also, how much did you pay for Romelu, and how are Redmond, Areola & Sterling developing?

Got Lukaku for £30m but i am paying £625k a month for another 30months
In 57 apperances he has scored 19 goals, he started poorly but has replaced Suarez as the top striker as Suarez has been poor (18 matches, 3 goals, compared to 25 goals in 38 apperances two seasons before).

Redmond has made 20 apperances in 2 years scoring 1 goal, still needs to improve a little before he replaces Rodriguez or Downing, he may go on loan next season unless i sell either man.

Alfonse Areola has made 2 league apperances this season letting in one goal and performing well, he was loaned out to Porto last year making 3 apperances letting in 4 goals, making apperances in cup and friendly matches.

Sterling has only just been brought up to the main squad after being loaned out to Walsall & Leeds, Sterling will be getting opportunites in cup matches like Areola

The other 4 1/2 star talent i've seen so far, shame Swansea want £21m for him.

Both this guy, and Pirovano look very promising.

Hopefully I will be able to snag a 4 1/2 star at some point in my save, after the whole first batch of regens around the world I have not found a single one. Although I did snag myself a 4 star dutch striker from Groningen, a 3 1/2 star German left mid from Schalke (who I think has been over-rated by my scouts, but for £2.6m I took a risk), and got a 3 1/2 star right back through my youth system.

Playing this now as Spurs and i am in 2023. I won the league every year besides one since 2013 and i also have won 7 out of the last 9 champions leagues (went to the final once).

Besides that i got my board to invest in a huge stadium which they have expanded every year (i think it cost 500 million to build). It is at capacity of over 135,000 now which i have 97% attendance ratio.

My tactic is a 4-1-2-3, but highly tweaked and modified. The center forward is key (i had Leandro Damiao in that role mainly)

Care to share that tactic?

I got tired of all the flimsy agent, media and exaggerated player interaction stuff in the last couple of editions and went back to playing FM 2010 after modifying the database a bit. Having great fun so far, 2010 truly was a splendid version. The best of the FM-series. They're too unnecessarily complex these days.

I agree in part they are extremely complex these days (especially the training) but 2010 wasn't the best in the FM Series IMO. I think the last 3 games (10, 11 & 12) all have their good and bad points which for me evens them all out as tied for the best in the series. I keep telling myself I won't buy 2013 - but who am I kidding, I've bought every game since it was just plain old Championship Manager 20 years ago (before the companies split in 2) and I don't think I'll stop now.

To each his own, I guess. I'll admit that the newer games does hold enhancements (especially the new tactical overview in '11) - but the hassle with complexity and unnecessary annoyances outweighs them in my opinion.

FM 12 is a great game. The best in the series if we see the big picture. But it's annoying as hell in some things. They tried to make things more simple, and it backfired. Hope they've learned their lesson and make amends in the next one. Ps: Did the option to ask a club player to reconsider retirement just vanished or what??

As Southampton i interacted with the board to sign Adam Federici as Kelvin Davis & Bartosz Bialkowski are not the best and they said they would sign him, turns out they paid £9.5m for him.

As Liverpool just started season 5, last season finished 6th.

Gks:
Pepe Reina : Loyal player and has been N01 since i started the game.
Kieran Finch: 16yr old who has the potential to be near Reina's level.

Defs:
Glen Johnson: Still going strong and at 31 still has some years left.
Jack Robinson: Johnson's eventual replacement, was capped for England last year.
Yaroslav Rakitskyi: Recent signing from Shaktar for 20m, looks like the best CD at the club.
Steven Caulker: One of my first signings and is still getting better.
Danny Wilson: Played 37 games last year and thus has established himself as a first team player.
Sebastian Coates: Always being chased by clubs like Inter & Tottenham, solid defender who scores a couple.
Alvaro Pereira: Another new signing from Porto, will be rotated with Jose Enrique.
Jose Enrique: Gets injured quite alot but still performs well when he plays.

Mids:
Tom Huddlestone: Another new signing and is better than Camacho & Daum so will be starting games ahead of them.
Ignacio Camacho: Signed him last year but was a little disappointing i may sell him in January if he isn't any good between September and then.
Kevin Daum: Gets injured alot but has good potential and 25caps for Germany U21 indicates he is a good player.
Jordan Henderson: Since being on loan at Newcastle for 12-13 season he has come back a much better player who can play many positions.
Gabriel Torje: One of my best signings, Torje scores when it really matters and is living up to his 20m price tag.
Andrea Poli: Signed him last season as backup for Gerrard when he gets injured but Poli played 35 games and solidified his place in the team.
Kristian Forster: Great potential and has only made 9 appearances in 2 years, may go out on loan soon.
Michael Pirovano: Only 20 but puts in top level performances and has 4 star potential so was worth £9m.
Steven Gerrard: Solid and scores a few also the captain.
Dirk Kuyt: He left in 2012 to Roma and i signed him for free from Utrecht and scored on his return match to Liverpool.
Simone Mascetti: Liverpool lacks left mids so i bought him in for £210k and has 2 1/2 potential so could be okay.
Junior Hoillet: Another one of my first signings and for £5m he is a bargain as you can rely on his speed to make a diffence in a match.

Strks:
Samuel Eto: Signed to a 1 year contract to see how good he is seeing as at Anji he scored 21 in 31 games.
Erick Torres: In his first season he scored none in 19 games and in 1 game this season he scored 1, hopefully now he can justify the £16m i payed for him.
Romelu Lukaku: Initially looked like a flop but has morphed into Liverpool's best striker, he scored 25 in 37 games last season but is out for 2/3 months with a broken leg right now.

Just won everything again (4th CL in a row, 9th in total), into year 2024 now. I have a problem with the FA cup though, just 2 cups. Won the league cup every year though and lost just one premiership since 2013. This was my best year in scoring, i had 128 goals equal the record Aston Villa had since 1928. Top scorer (which is a regen) scored 47 goals in the league.

I am in year 2018, playing with Rio Ave. Won 1 champions league, 4 domestic leagues in a row, 5 portugese cups in a row. My regen striker scored 34 in 18 games this season :O

Just finished season 4 on my Leicester city save, here is a recap of the season that has just passed.

Finished 6th in the Premier league (complete fluke), building off finishes of 16th and 9th in the first two seasons following the clubs top flight return, however due to wins for Wolves and Birmingham in the FA and League cups respectively there was no place in Europe for the club despite finishing level on points with Liverpool in 5th (Yipee, didn't have a big enough squad anyway ).

We were uninspiring in the League cup falling at the first hurdle to eventual nPower Championship winners Norwich, and our FA cup run was ended in the 6th round by Championship club Bournemouth (*rabble rabble* Richie Wellens getting sent off in the 14th minute + playing reserve squad does not equal a fun game ).

The squad for the season:

Goalkeepers:

Kasper Schmeichel - Developed into a true #1 who I have no need or desire to replace. A league ever-present for all three Premiership seasons (and only missed 1 in my sole Championship campaign) who kept a remarkable 16 clean sheets this season, only bettered by Hart and De Gea of champions and runners up Man City and United respectively.
Fraser Forster - Back-up keeper who hasn't managed a single league appearance in his three years at the club, who has began moaning and therefore will be leaving the club this summer, his spot to be taken by a young Irish gen who has been gaining experience for my reserves in the past year.

Overview - As long as Kasper remains injury free I am fine, but his backup is average.

Defenders -

Ryan Shawcross - Important defender who has just completed his third season at the club following a £13 Million transfer from Stoke. Good season from the big defender and should be the heart of my defence for a few more years.
Sol Bamba - A fellow big defender who's next season may be his last as a first choice as younger options are brought in.
Matt Mills - Club captain despite missing 18 league games this season, fell behind Bamba and Shawcross in the pecking order, but found a starting place alongside both fellow CB's in the clubs increasingly used 5-4-1 formation.
Nedum Onuoha - Largely used as a sub to cover the right back position, rarely getting to play his favoured centre back role. In his third season at the club following a £2 million move from Man City.
Mark Wilson - Also in his third season following a £1.7 million move from Celtic, who has had to play both right and left back following injuries to regular left backs. Started 35 league games and subbed on for another two, a quality player but one who along with Bamba will be phased out soon.
Lee Peltier - Another right back who has fallen back to being a back-up player, only managing 3 starts this season, a huge decrease from the previous seasons 33.
Paul Konchesky - Put in a solid season despite being his last, having announced his retirement at 34.
Greg Cunningham - First choice left back who joined at the very start of the game for £1.5 million, however spent a dissapointing 17 weeks on the sidelines injured this season, limiting himself to 12 starts.

Overview - A good unit who have operated together for 3 years with no new additions, although that will be changing soon.

Midfield
Scott Parker - Brough in on a free at the start of the season to be my anchor man and was a huge part of the season starting 34 games. Unfortunately he decided to retire so will not be repeating his form into the next season.
Richie Wellens - In his retirement season he was filtered out almost entirely limited to 7 appearances, and only starting in cup games. Good servant over the course of the game but easily replaceable.
Gelson Fernandes - Was on loan to us in season 1 in the Championship, playing 40 games, returned to his parent club for a season before joining us on a free. Started 21 games in his first season here, but was virtually unused in this last season, and will be sold due to complaining.
Tom Cairney - Ridiculously splashed £6 Million on the kid in season 1, but has been a great player for the club. Gained fewer assists this season than the previous one, but it was to be expected as I retrained him to work as a defensive mid, working alongside Scott Parker.
Andy King - Similar story to Tom Cairney except didn't have to buy him in. Also been retrained to a defensive mid role, but also managed to find some assists which had been lacking in previous seasons.
Alberto Aquilani - Same as Scott Parker, being brought in on a free at the beginning of the season. Mainly a sub who failed to shine and will likely be let go and replaced with another free (luckily only signed a one year contract).
Charlie Adam - Completed 1 and a half seasons with Leicester after his £4 million January move. Decent player but he hasn't found his Blackpool boots unfortunately.

Overview - A good bunch of players who can all rotate very well, but Scott Parker will be missed (altough replacing him with a French rotation of Alou Diarra and a very good young gen who has just been purchased from Arsenal should work out well).

Attacking Midfield + Strikers

Kevin De Bruyne - One of my favourite players on my team who acts as my creative hub. Doesn't get exceptional stats but more often than not gets the assists on the assists. A very good £2.5 Million purchase who has just completed year 3 with the club.
Dries Mertens - De Bruyne's Belgian compatriot, and quite often partner in attacking mid. A poor mans Eden Hazard, but he has chipped in 6 goals in each of his campaigns for me along with a few assists. Well worth the £4.8 Million he cost.
Eduardo Vargas - A suprise free picked up in September who has been a good part of my attacking mid rotation. Only scored 2 goals but both came in a win over Chelsea so I can't complain, and 5 assists helped me along the way.
Ruben Rochina - A £10 Million mistake, I panic purchased and ended up with a player I didn't really want. Put up similar stats to Vargas, but would happily sell Rochina to try and recover some of the £10 Million.
Jeffery Schlupp - Don't know why I am keeping this guy around, his only good stats are Acceleration and Speed, put up good stats in the Championship and reasonable ones in the season prior to this one, but is really a space that I should put to better use.
Grant Holt - Purchased a few seasons ago in January as I needed a new striker, however for the last few seasons has done nothing, and was released this January after offering his resignation. Managed 1 start and 1 goal in cup competitions (breaking a long goal drought from the previous season), nothing more.
Jermain Defoe - Was brought in on a free at the start of the season, but was let go along with Grant Holt in January. Had very little need for the guy, and he wasn't happy on the bench.
Daniel Sturridge - The single reason behind my remarkable season, my second highest Premier League goal scorer was Mertens on 6...Sturridge hit 26, finishing behind Fernando Torres only in the goal scoring charts. A fantastic second season for the £7.25 Million man, but will probably need more support on the goal scoring front next season.

Overview - A good set of attacking mids, but Sturridge needs more support scoring.

Hoping to have another push for Europe this season, as I should be prepared for Thursday night games a year from now.

Also was offered and accepted the Rep. of Ireland job after Chris Hughton was ridiculously sacked while at the top of the Euro 2016 qualifying group, despite wins over Belgium and the Czechs a loss to Georgia was enough to get sacked . Won my first game, altough I would have been sacked if I didn't since it was against Cyprus.
