When does the Demo end?

I figured after awhile of playing that it must end after volume 1, but here I am 5 issues into volume 2 and still going. Does it just go one forever?

I don't think the demo ends; I believe your character can only die but I could be wrong.

It keeps going. If you only wanna play with the three characters available (or play with any you want with the "you're not gonna win jack" fights), never ever use mods, and only play in RP mode, then you can play it as long as you want.

So it's still a hefty limit... you can just screw around in it as much as you'd like.

The demo doesn't end, the restriction for this particular game is your limited to three specific characters, and while that may sound bad, trust me, that's nothing compared to how the limitations were, those were bad, this is great.
