This was actually worse than I expected. Nice to see Soh get in some good cheap shots. And drama from Meido? Ooh. Too early to break up the team, though. They have alot of experience to build up.
I wouldn't take MOE! MONEYS! squabbles at all seriously, it's just Meido and HUSTLE having a Tsundere/Baka dynamic Don't have any plans to break them up anytime soon- still too entertaining to write for.

Result: Koto Arato, Kotei Yamato & Go Takashi [w] bt Hyotaru Ichigawa, Taheji Ebisawa & Kan Mitsubishi [L] in 13:10 via pinfall (DRRR!!)

This was a kind of weird match. I'm not sure why the Champ got put in with such a weak team since losing doesn't create any new challengers or stories. Maybe Arato needed a win.

Sometimes there are matches, which have no meaning at all- this was simply a get a couple of main eventers on the show (otherwise they'll complain if they're not) type of match and I didn't really want to be throwing out yet another Ichigawa-Arato match at this stage, especially on a small market show....so what better than the meaningless six man tag. As for Ichigawa tagging with 'weak' partners- all the stronger Guardians were occupied elsewhere.

Result: Zodiac & Talisman [w] bt Aki Shimizudani [L] & Horiuchi Inokuma in 12:23 via pinfall (Platinum Idol)

Now the quality starts. I've been really enjoying Z&T as a team and Zergon's been doing a great job keeping Talisman in line. ShimiKuma put on their usual strong tag match. Never any question who was going to win, though. But it would be a shame to see ShimiKuma break up. But maybe it's time for Inokuma to go all Shawn Michaels on Aki Janetty.
Zergon you're doing a great job keeping Talisman in line

Result: Incognito [w] bt Hiro Date [L] in 16:45 via pinfall (Incognito Driver)

Good match! This was one of those treats you get in small market shows. A couple of good wrestlers just there to put on a good match. Incognito has the ego problem but it hasn't seemed to bad so far, either.
Incognito's been OK so far- I tend to be quite lucky with so called egomaniacs.....I had Sensational Dragon to deal with in my BHOTWG diary (similar set up to Incognito supremely talented but susposedly a massive dick) and I had no real problems with him either- Now that I've said that, I'll probably get some incident involving Incognito when I sim my next show.

Re: Mio Mio it's about time we heard more from her. I'm sure she could sneak into a card. Get a blonde wig. A trench coat should be enough to hide her usual clothing (and an axe). So it may be for the best to let her back in, so you know where she is and what she's up to.
Mio Mio was never going to be gone forever but I was wary of not over-exposing her and besides the way events unfolded after the Bunkyo Hall show, meant that she had to disappear for a bit anyway.

Of course I am. I just wish I would get more help from Zodiac but he´s too busy making moves to help me to keep Talisman´s ego in check.

Full Metal Panic! Tour - Show 16

Tuesday 21st February 2012,
Nagaski Arena, Kyushu (1,933- No Vacancy)

Match 0: Horiuchi Inokuma vs Shiki Hirasi

Inokuma dominated the early going, but was then a bit lax in finishing the job by arrogantly posturing for the fans, that almost cost him as Hirasi caught him in the Ankle-Lock. 'Learning Lion' was able to battle to the ropes however and then got 'serious' after that, eventually putting Hirasi away with the Kamikochi Suplex (Northern Lights Suplex)

Result: Horiuchi Inokuma [w] bt Shiki Hirais [L] in 6:25 via pinfall (Kamikochi Suplex)

Rating: 34

Takayuki Balls: I don't think the fans really bought into Inokuma-san strutting around arrogantly, even if he was in the ring with a jobber like Hirasi-san. A three minute squash would have been just as effective, if not more so here.

Main Show

Match #1: Aki Shimizudani vs Taheji Ebisawa

vs

This match saw these two heavyweights slug it out with a back and forth brawl for about five minutes. Ebisawa seemed to be getting on top, and appeared to be setting up for the Ebisawa Complex (Swinging Side Slam Backbreaker) but 'S-Pulse' managed to block that and countered with a belly to belly suplex.

Shimizudani then looked to nail Ebisawa with the Chin-Marker (Jumping Knee), but 'Forceful Dagger' managed to move out of the way and was then able to nail Shimizudani with the Dozer (Spear) to secure the win.

Result: Taheji Ebisawa [w] bt Aki Shimizudani [L] in 6:08 via pinfall (Dozer)

Rating: 42

Takayuki Balls: zzzzzzz........ oh yeah this match....Ebisawa won, that's all you need to know.

Match #2: Sairento vs Meido Machine

vs

This one looked to be a mauling right away when Sairento immediately nailed Meido Machine with a Yazuza Kick and then stomped away on the 'World' Most Dangerous Otaku'...after a Kuro Stomp brought a two count....Sairento then hoisted Meido on his shoudlers. But the MOE! MONEY! man showed some suprising fighting spirit and countered into a crucifix bomb before transitioning into the Moe Moe Clutch (Double Leg Nelson Pin) that almost earned the cross-dresser a shock victory.

Meido then avoided a Yazuza Kick from Sairento, and countered with a Dragon Screw Leg-Whip before heading up top. Meido....screamed out 'M M MEIDO BEAAAAMMM!!' before managing to nail Sairento with his signature missile drop-kick, but the Kuro Nadeshiko leader shook it off by sitting back up immediately in his customarily eerie fashion.

Meido then threw up the heart symbol

But Sairento clearly doesn't have heart as he does not freeze and instead just blows right through Meido with a lariat. The Silent Reaper then hoisted Meido upon his shoulders for a Death Valley Driver and then delivers a Kuro-Stomp (Surfboard Curb Stomp) that looked as though it would get three, but the sadistic Sairento isn't done....

He lifts the 'World's Most Dangerous Otaku' up at two and cruelly delivers two more Kuro-Stomp's before then lifting up the nail pretty much lifeless form of Meido Machine, and force the MOE! MONEY! to endure the Death Note (Spike Brainbuster).....Sairento then merely stood over Meido as referee Sugimura made the academic three count.

Result: Sairento [w] bt Meido Machine [L] in 6:54 via pinfall (Death Note)

Rating: 65

Takayuki Balls: That turned out to be a really entertaining squash match, though Meido probably wishes he put up less of a fight and just let Sairento win with the Yazuza Kick..then again Sairento's such a sadistic bastard he'd probably want to dish out the punishment anyway.

~Acceleration to Summit~
Match #3: 10 Man Super Junior Title shot Battle Royal:
Blood Spider Jr, Dark Wolf II, HUSTLE Umiro, Incognito,
Kotei Yamato, Shintaro Hideki, Soh Terajima,
Talisman, Tian Long, Xtinction

Ten men vying for a shot at the Super Junior Championship..... two competitors will start and the next entrant will enter after the first two minutes and then each entrant after will enter after each minute. It's over the top rope until the final two where the winner will be decided by pinfall, submission or knockout.

Blood Spider Jr and Soh Terajima- drew number 1 and 2. They tease locking up with another but just flip off the fans instead....

2 min- Entrant number 3 is: Dark Wolf II- The Kuro trio tease tossing each over the top rope a few times- only to pull their stable mate back into the ring. Unsurpisingly their mockery of the match draws some serious ire from the fans.

3 min- Entrant number 4 and here comes Xtinction!- Everybody's Shadow goes for a springboard drop-kick but that proves to be a foolish method of trying to make an impact, as Soh Terajima 'stumble's into the ropes- causing Xtinction to lose his balance and pretty much eliminate himself.

Elimination #1: Xtinction in 3:12

The Kuro trio then 'goof' around a bit more to the fans obvous frustration

4 min- Entrant number 5- Something is starting to look a bit fishy here as the next entrant is yet another Kuro-Nadeshiko member Incognito.

He comes into the ring with a microphone and performs a rap.....in Spanish! - The fans really are getting frustrated now with only Kuro members being in the ring and not wrestling!

5 min- Entrant number 6- Finally we get someone who isn't Kuro-Nadeshiko (unless you actually count Xtinction's pathetic 12 second cameo!) ...it's HUSTLE Umiro- but he too has a mic in hand and want's to challenge Xtinction to a rap battle!- He was obviously offended by Incognito mic-skills....the fans are just offended by the lack of actual wrestling!

Kuro-Nadeshiko suddenly aren't in the mood to play though and immediately like a pack of wolves start a four one one beatdown on HUSTLE.....

The MOE! MONEY! man proves somewhat resillient though and manages to 'skin the cat' after Dark Wolf II tosses him over the top.

6 min- Entrant number 7- Here comes Shintaro Hideki ! He nails Soh Terajima with a superkick ..'the Cloaked Assassin' ends up colliding with Blood Spider and ends up erroneously eliminating his own stable mate!

Elimination #2: Blood Spider Jr in 6:13

Terajima is apologizing to Blood Spider over what happens and then suddenly gets sent to the floor himself with a clothesline from HUSTLE Umiro

Elimination #3: Soh Terajima in 6:20

HUSTLE is celebrating his elimination but then gets nailed with a superkick from Hideki and ends up being elimated himself!-

Elimination #4: HUSTLE Umiro in 6:44

7 Min- Entrant number 8: Hideki doesn't have to wait long for an ally as here comes his tag partner Kotei Yamato!

It's New Solution versus the Kuro-Nadeshiko pairing of Incognito and Dark Wolf II...Yamato nails Dark Wolf II with a drop-kick and then combines with Hideki on a chop block/spin kick combo to take down Incognito...the former Junior tag champions appear to be setting up for KEIYAKUSHA (Superkick asssited German Suplex) but Hideki gets tripped up by Soh Terajima from the apron...Terajima pulls Hideki out and nails him with a Black Box shot!

Yamato is nailed with a spinning heel kick from Incognito and then planting with the Howling Fury (Slingshot Powerbomb) from Dark Wolf II....

Yamato looks to be in trouble....

8 Min- Entrant number 9: Talisman comes in and cleans house with a flurry of arm-drags and spinning headscissors on the Kuro pair- thus making the save for Yamato. Talisman then persaudes Yamato to work together with him against the Kuro pair, even though they do not represent the same stable.

Talisman and Yamato combine on a bulldog/basement drop-kick combo on Dark Wolf II....Incognito however sneaks up behind Talisman and plants 'the Second Coming' with an Incognito Driver (Snapmare Driver) but Yamato nails Incognito with a gamengiri and then plants 'El Pesadilla Hermosa' with a Gurren Driver (Scoop Slam Piledriver).....

'Pin Point' then ducks a clothesline from Dark Wolf II, and takes down the 'Howling Menace' with a basement drop-kick....

9 Min- Final Entrant: Unfortunately for Yamato the final entrant is another Kuro- Nadeshiko member Tian Long and the Imperial one nails 'Pin Point' with a cheap shot from behind before planting the former Junior Tag champ with a Chokeslam.

All entrants have now entered the match, and Yamato and Talisman find themselves in a three on two handicap against the Kuro-Nadeshiko trio.. ...

Talisman and Yamato then find themselves on the end of a three on two beatdown for the next few minutes, but they show great fighting spirit by surviving every attempt from the Kuro trio to eliminate them......

Of course the Kuro trio had forgotten that Shintaro Hideki wasn't actually eliminated and 'Integral Prowess' sneaks back in to nail Incognito with a Super-Kick- all the way over the top-rope and to the floor!

Elimination #5: Incognito in 12:57

But the Kuro pairing of Wolf and Long are still the freshment in the match and Hideki is nailed from behind by the 'Imperial One' and dumped with a Release Dragon Suplex......Dark Wolf II then follows up with a lariat to send Hideki over the top rope.....'Integral Prowess' manages to skin the cat but then gets nailed with a Black Box shot from Soh Terajima and Hideki ends up taking a tumble to the floor.

Elimination #6: Shintaro Hideki in 13:43

It is now down to the final four, but surely the Kuro pair of Long and Wolf have the advantage, in the fact that they will be completely on the same page.....

Yamato and Talisman have other idea's however and it is actually them who pull off some effective double teams to neutralise their opponents- starting with a flurry of spinning head-scissors from Talisman on Long and Wolf - followed by stereo basement drop-kicks.

Talisman and Yamato then combine on consecutive 'Poetry In Motions' to their opponents before pulling out 'New Solutions' finisher the KEIYAKUSHA (Superkick assisted German Suplex) on Tian Long.....with Talisman doing a pretty decent job of replacing Hideki in delivering the superkick.

Wolf saves a dazed Long from being dumped out of the ring and then takes down Talisman and Yamato with a double clothesline....the 'Howling Menace' then seems to take over dumping Talisman with an overhead belly to belly suplex and then dumping Yamato with a Howling Fury (Slingshot Powerbomb).....

Dark Wolf II then somewhat foolishly decided to head up top, but was cut off by Talisman who brought the 'Howling Menace' crashing back into the ring with a hurracanara. Both staggered back up to their feet and were nailed with stereo drop-kicks from Long and Yamato that sent them over the top-rope and to the floor for a double elimination!- Even more surprising for the pair is that Yamato eliminated Talisman who he was 'working' with against the Kuro pair and Long saw the opportunity to dispatch of his own stable mate.

Elimination's #7 and 8: Dark Wolf II and Talisman in 18:27

That left Kotei Yamato and Tian Long as the final two to compete for the first shot at the Super Junior Championship after Pro Wrestling Festival...... The over the top rope rules were now no longer in effect with the traditional method of a pin, submission or knockout being used to decide the winner out of these final two survivors.

Long sneaks in a low blow and quickly takes Yamato down with a school boy roll-up....

But 'Pin Point' shows great fighting spirit by kicking out... Long stays in control and sets up for a Chokeslam but Yamato manages to fight his way out with a series of elbows to the side of the head...and then counters with the Gurren MK II Driver (Sitout Side Driver).........

But Yamato collapses out of sheer exhaustion and he is unable to make a immediate cover....Long is still down and he scrambles across.....

One......

Two.....

The 'Imperial One' kicks out but is then caught in the Knightmare Frame (Bridging Cobra Clutch)........

Tian Long looks set to tap out but all of a sudden referee Ochida is pulled out of the ring by Long's tag partner Incognito. Incognito occupies Ochida, whilst Blood Spider Jr sneaks in breaks up the submission and then spews mist into Yamato's eyes......

Long then sneaks in another schoolboy roll-up on Yamato......

One......

Two......

Yamato kicks out but he's still disorientated and the 'Imperial One' dumps 'Pin Point' with a Dragon Suplex before heading up top.......

Long comes crashing down upon Yamato with the Corkscrew From Heaven (Corkscrew Senton)

One......

Two.....

Three !

The veteran schemer Tian Long found a way to this 10 man Battle Royal and earn a shot at the Super Junior Championship.

Final Elimination: Kotei Yamato in 23:14 (pinfall- Corkscrew From Heaven)

Result: Tian Long won a 10 man Battle Royal in 23:14

Rating: 68

Takayuki Balls: You rarely get great matches with Battle Royals and the over the top rules, admittedly limited the Junior Division wrestlers from being seen at their best....that being said the in-ring action did get better in the latter stages and throughout the match they made up for the lack of action with some good storytelling...even if the lack of action did try the crowd's patience in the beginning.

Post match Tian Long gets on the microphone

'I bet many of you had written off this so called relic, you all seem to forget that I am the wisest man in wrestling and that my wisdom far exceeds that of all my opponents put together. And whoever faces me after Pro Wrestling Festival will be looking across the ring at a champion , because I shall be holding gold.....Junior Tag Team gold that is alongside Incognito'

Rating: 69 __________________________________________________ ___

Match #4: Hiroto Nori, Hiro Date & Oda Yawawaki vs
Yachi Kotara, Kohei Hidaka & Hideaki Kasuse

vs

The S.H.I.P trio came out of the traps faster, but 'The Forgotten' unit managed to turn things round when Kasuse caused Nori to lose his balance by shaking the ropes when the S.H.I.P leader set up for a springboard drop-kick.

'The Forgotten' trio then threw everthing they had at Nori, with Kasuse and Hidaka combining on a vertical suplex/flying crossbody combo and Kotara planting Nori with the North Light Suplex.

But 'Battle' wasn't going to give in and eventually found a way out of trouble with a Tornado DDT on Kasuse and then consecutive drop-kicks on Hidaka and Kotara before getting the tag into Date.

From there on the the Tokyo Wrecking Crew took control with Yotara dumped with a Rejection II (Backdrop suplex) by Date and then Hidaka taken out with the Sky Tree (Doomsday Device) by the All Asia Tag Champs....Kasuse managed to make the save with the All About Yen (Diving Leg Drop) upon Date and then nailed Yamawaki with a gamengiri.

But Nori then tagged himself back in and drilled Kasuse with the springboard missile drop-kick, a Reverse STO and then the Endless Nori (kick flurry ending with a high kick to the head) followed to secure the victory for the S.H.I.P trio.

Result: Hiroto Nori [w], Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki bt Yachi Kotara, Kohei Hidaka & Hideaki Kasuse [L] in 11:15 via pinfall (Endless Nori)

Rating: 65

Takayuki Balls: Solid six man tag- Nori was obviously put over as the big deal here....repelling the best 'The Forgotten' could throw at him and then being the one to secure the win for his team.

Match #5: Udon Noodle Killers (GUSHIKEN & Chojiro Ono) vs
Team Ganbatte!! (Koto Arato & Go Takashi)

&

vs

&
This one just began as an ugly brawl and the fight soon spilt out ot the floor, where the rule-bending UNK took full advantage with Ono getting in some chair shots on Arato and then GUSHIKEN body-slamming Takashi onto the ring-steps.

When things settled down the UNK were in total control with Takashi isolated in their corner. The Kuro-Nadeshiko pair methodically worked over 'Nippon Hart' in their corner but they spent too much time taunting the crowd and that allowed Takashi to rock GUSHIKEN with a jumping knee strike and then nail Ono with a drop-kick before looking to make a tag, but GUSHIKEN recovered and prevented Takashi from tagging out, before getting a cheap shot in on Arato.

Takashi then had to endure more punishment from the UNK but showed plenty of fighting spirit by kicking out of a GUSHIKEN Driver (Samoan Driver) and then a press-slam from Ono. Ono then went for the Tsunami Big Splash but Takashi had enough left in the tank to move out of the way and then begin scrambling for the corner, only for Ono to get back up and prevent Takashi from once again making the tag......

Ono then delivered a few clubbing blows to 'Nippon Hart' before whipping him into the corner and then going for a running splash but once again Takashi managed to move out of the way and then planted Ono with the Headless Ride (Running Neckbreaker).....

Takashi then finally got the tag to a fired up Arato, who cleaned house with a flurry of Arato-Lariat's before making the pin attempt on Ono, only for GUSHIKEN to make the save, but a fired up Arato dished out move Arato-Lariat's to 'Great Thunder' before taking down Ono with shoulder tackle.

Arato then applied the Dreamland (Rear Naked Choke) to Ono, but just as it looked as though referee Ochida would have to call for the bell.....GUSHIKEN came in and made the save, before sneaking in a low blow on Arato and planting Strong Dreamer with a GUSHIKEN Driver (Samoan Driver).......

GUSHIKEN then tried to go for the GUSHIKEN Series (Triple Rolling German suplex) but on the third German, Arato managed to force a standing switch and counter into a German of his own before staggering into this corner to take the tag from Takashi.

'Nippon Hart' delivered a running knee to the downed GUSHIKEN for a two count, and then went to apply the Dollars (Inverted Cloverleaf) submission but 'Great Thunder' powered his way out of the hold and then nailed Takashi with the GUSHIKEN Smash (Charging Elbow smash) before then planting Takashi with the GUSHIKEN Firebomb (Thunder Fire Powerbomb) to secure the win for the UNK.

Result: GUSHIKEN [w] & Chojiro Ono vs Koto Arato & Go Takashi [L] in 13:56 via pinfall (GUSHIKEN Firebomb)

Rating: 69

Takayuki Balls: The respect the fans have for seeing veteran legends GUSHIKEN and Arato, in action lifted what was a pretty run of the mill 'brawl' based tag match, with Takashi forced to take alot of punishment and show plenty of fighting spirit.

Post Match Comments:

GUSHIKEN: Wrecking Crew you threw your pathetic stable mates in front of us that has-been Arato and that misguided young lion Takashi. No wonder he keeps taking a beating in his matches, if he's taking guidance from you S.H.I.P fools! You won't stop us taking those All Asia Tag belts away from you.... you just don't have it, to stop the Udon Noodle Killers!

~Dangerous Allies~
Match #6: Hyotaru Ichigawa & Prime Dragon vs
Eikichi Minamoto & Zodiac

&

vs

&

Prime Dragon and Zodiac start this one off and they engage in some chain wrestling that ends in a stale-mate and a show of respect between the two Junior Division wrestlers. Dragon tags in Ichigawa but Minamoto jumps off the apron wanting no part of the match at this stage, leaving Zodiac to take on Ichigawa, much to the Junior Tag Champions bewilderment.

Zodiac however uses his speed to hold his own against Ichigawa taking the heavyweight champion down with some dizzying tilt-a-whirls, but Ichigawa recovers when Zodiac looked to head up top and sent 'Innovations God' crashing back in with a biel throw. Ichigawa then lined up for the Decapitator (Running Big Boot) but was tripped up from the apron by Minamoto and pulled out to the floor....

Minamoto got in some cheap-shots but Ichigawa fired right back and the two engaged in a back and forth brawl out on the floor....only for a recovered Zodiac to come soaring over the top-rope with a no hand corkscrew plancha.....Then as anyone were just getting back to their feet and shaking the cobwebs from their heads, Prime Dragon got in on the action again....heading up top and then crashing down upon everyone with a moonsault press.

Referee Sugimura almost counts everyone out but Dragon and Zodiac beat the count and once again engage in their hold for hold, counter for counter chain wrestling contest, that's until Minamoto cheap shots Dragon from the apron.

Zodiac does not look too enamoured by Minamoto's intervention and argues with 'Rumble Heart' only to get quickly rolled up from behind by Prime Dragon.....

One.....

Two.....

Zodiac kicks out, and then perhaps irritated now by Dragon trying to sneak victory in a relatively cheap manner, steps it up a gear and peppers the 'Grand Pillar' with a series of kicks before setting up for a Beetle Suplex (Tiger Suplex) but Dragon manages to force a standing switch and counters into a release German.

Dragon then nailed Zodiac with a rolling wheel kick, before heading over to the ropes to set up for the Dragonsault, but he was taken off balance when Minamoto simply leaned against the ropes.....the Super Junior Champion dropped into the Tree of Woe position, and this time Zodiac took full advantage of Minamoto's intervention by nailing Dragon with a basement drop-kick.

Zodiac went for a quick cover, but Dragon was always going to kick out of that before tagging Minamoto into the match. 'Rumble Heart' managed to overpower the still dazed Super Junior Champion before hoisting the 'Grand Pillar' upon his shoulders....and delivering the Gurugu Mawaru (Airplane Spin Samoan Drop)- the move still getting a good reaction from the crowd, despite Minamoto's rather questionable behaviour of late.....

Of course after delivering that move Minamoto was all dizzy himself and 'Rumble Heart' stumbled around the ring before making the cover.......

One......

Two.......

Dragon kicked out, Minamoto's own disorientation giving the Super Junior Champion time to recover. Dragon then rocked Minamoto with a gamengiri but 'Rumble Heart' shook it off and came back with a knee strike, before hoisting Dragon upon his shoulders and delivering a gutbuster for a two count.

Minamoto then whipped Dragon back into his teams corner and tagged Zodiac back into the match- it was at this point that the pace of the match slowed down for a bit as Minamoto and Zodiac simply looked to try and wear the Super Junior Champion down with quick tags and body part targetted offence.....the main body part of their focus was Dragon's right arm, particularly highlighted when Minamoto placed Dragon in an arm wringer and then Zodiac came crashing down upon Dragon's arm with a double stomp.

Dragon manages to battle his way out of trouble however, nailing Zodiac with a palm strike and then drilling 'Innovations God' with the Prime Driver (Over The Shoulder Belly to Back Piledriver)....the Super Junior Champion decides to go for the cover......

One.....

Two.....

Zodiac kicks out, but Dragon's cover was a weak one due to him not really hooking the leg properly.....

Dragon is clearly favouring the arm that Minamoto and Zodiac were working on, and a recovered Zodiac takes full advantage with a drop-kick, followed by a Tilt-A-Whirl that he quickly transitions in the Flame Haze crucifix arm bar........

Seeing that Dragon is in major trouble....Ichigawa manages to scramble into the ring and break up the cover, but is quickly engaged by referee Sugimura, who tells the Heavyweight Champion to get back to his corner......

Minamoto takes full advantage of that, sneaking into the ring and get a few stomps in on Dragon, before scoop slamming the 'Grand Pillar' into position for Zodiac, who has headed out on the apron to come springboarding back in with Another Universe (Springboard 450 Splash).....

But Dragon still has enough of his wits about him to get his knees up and wind 'Innovations God'.....

There was of course only one thing on Dragon's mind at this stage and that was to find a way to get Ichigawa back into the match. Dragon looked to be just about on the verge of tagging out, when Zodiac manage to catch up with him, and then after a few clubbing blows....set the 'Grand Pillar' up for a Zodiac Sniper (Sunset Flip Powerbomb) but before Zodiac could deliver it, Dragon managed to counter with a back body drop, before finally getting a well rested and fired up Ichigawa back into the match.

'White Light' took immediate control against Zodiac and was soon setting up for rhe Chugoku Spike (Cradle Piledriver) but Zodiac managed to wriggle free and then stun Ichigawa with a Gamengiri only to then get nailed with the Decapitator (Running Bicycle Kick).....

One......

Two......

Thr.......

Minamoto dived in to make the save, and then squared up to Ichigawa- referee Sugimura soon got between them and sent Minamoto back to his corner, but Minamoto's distraction gave Zodiac time to recover and stun Ichigawa with a drop-kick before building momentum into the Escaflowne (Tilt-A-Whirl Crucifix Bomb Pin)......

One......

Two......

Thr.......

Ichigawa managed to kick out, but was left feeling all disorientated and Zodiac saw the opportunity to head up top.......But 'White Light' wasn't really worn down enough and was soon back to his feet to cut Zodiac off....only for 'Innovations God' to counter whatever Ichigawa had in mind to send Zodiac crashing back into the ring with a Tornado DDT......

Zodiac then made the decision to tag Minamoto back into the match, and 'Rumble Heart' immediately went to nail Ichigawa with his own signature Decapitator (Running Bicycle Kick) but Ichigawa saw that one coming, side stepped out of the way and clipped Minamoto's legs from underneath him with a single leg-take-down.

Minamoto got right back up though, and the two men who would be fighting over the Heavyweight Championship then squared up to one another, before exploding into a back and forth exchange of chops and fore-arms....neither one wanting to show weakness to the other by backing down. Eventually both get worn down by each others relentless barrage and a seperation happens, leading to both deciding to go for the Decapitator (Running Bicyle Kick) then miss one another and then both go for clothesline's ending up with a mid-ring collison that left both of them down in the middle of the ring.

Referee Sugimura applied a double ten count, but both were able to get back to their feet and once again reignited their intense brawl with one another, Minamoto though seemed to be making more in-roads into Ichigawa's resistance and eventually had 'White Light' weakened enough to set up for the Harima DDT (Double Underhook DDT) but Ichigawa was luring Minamoto into a false sense of security, breaking free of the double underhook and then suddenly floating over and catching 'Rumble Heart' in the Crucifix Arm Bar!

Minamoto tried to lift Ichigawa up and counter with powerbomb, but the Heavyweight Champion's will to apply his submisison proved to be stronger and Minamoto fell to the canvas, on the verge of tapping out......

Only for Zodiac to realise the desperation of the situation for his team, and intervene by breaking up the pin......that drew out Prime Dragon who soon sent Zodiac out to the floor and followed up by holding Zodiac off, as Ichigawa looked to re-apply the Crucifix Arm Bar....

But Minamoto was able to block the attempt , and trapping Ichigawa in a headlock rained down a series of elbows upon the top of Ichigawa's head, but he was unable to keep up the assault, the arm Ichigawa had trapped in the Crucifix Arm Bar, still paining 'Rumble Heart'.....

Minamoto went for the cover on the still dazed Ichigawa.......

One.......

Two........

Thr.....

Ichigawa was able to kick out, but Minamoto remained in control and he went to set up for the Ode to Eri (Cradle Brainbuster).....

But he was unable to get Ichigawa up and the Heavyweight Champion went to counter into the Chugoku Spike (Cradle Piledriver) but Minamoto was able to block that, Ichigawa then tried to set up for a Dragon Suplex but Minamoto was able to force a standing switch and dump Ichigawa with a high angle belly to back suplex, before collapsing to the mat unable to follow up with a cover.....

Then just mere seconds apart Zodiac and Prime Dragon were tagged back into the match by their exhausted tag partners.

The two Junior Division stand outs pick up on their fast paced chain wrestling from the start of the match....Prime Dragon connects with a Rolling Wheel Kick and sets up for the Prime Driver (Over the Shoulder Belly to Back Piledriver) but Zodiac blocks that and counters into a Beetle Suplex (Tiger Suplex)......

One.......

Dragon kicks out and then nails Zodiac with a palm strike, the 'Grand Pillar' follows that up with a superkick and then drills 'Innovations God' with the Prime Driver.......

Thr.....

Zodiac kicks out, but is then caught into the Dragon's Bite (Inverted Facelock Sleeper), but Dragon has the submission hold applied too near the ropes and Zodiac is able to force the ropebreak.......

The Grand Pillar then looked to set up for the Prime Driver once again but , Zodiac was able to block and then after delivering a boot into Dragon's mid-section, stunned the Super Junior champion with a Zodiac Sniper '98 (Leg Trap Sunset Flip Powerbomb)......

One......

Two.....

Thr........

Dragon shows the fighting spirit of a champion by kicking out........

But the 'Grand Pillar' remained rooted to the mat, and Zodiac headed up top only for Dragon to suddenly spark back into life, to send 'Innovations God' crashing back into the ring with the DRAGON'S FLAME!! (Moonsault Side Slam) ......

The rarely seen move pops the crowd into a frenzy, but it has also taken alot out of the Super Junior Champion and he is unable to follow up with a cover, however he does end up nearer to his corner and is able to get Ichigawa back into the match.

'White Light' pulls Zodiac up for the Chugoku Spike but to Ichigawa's suprise Zodiac still has something left in the tank, blocking the Chugoku Spike attempt and then suddenly countering with a ZODIAC SNIPER X!!

But before Zodiac can make the cover on Ichigawa, Minamoto makes the blind tag.....

'Rumble Heart' circles around Ichigawa , waits for the dazed heavyweight champion to stagger back up to his feet and then applies the Akira Takano Tea Club Special (Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors Arm Bar).....

Ichigawa having just been spiked on his head just moments earlier, and probably on the verge of being pinned for a three count anyway, has nothing left to give and immediately taps.

Minamoto of course celebrates the victory like he did all the work- though the crowd still seem receptive of the effort he put into this match, just like the other three men who did battle in the ring.

Result: Eikichi Minamoto [w] & Zodiac bt Hyotaru Ichigawa [L] & Prime Dragon in 31:49 via submission (Akira Takano Tea Club Special)

Rating: 84

Takayuki Balls: Incredible main event, because this was inter-faction- the crowd may have been thinking that the match might lack a bit of an edge, but they soon blew that out of the water with Minamoto whose behavour is becoming increasingly selfish becoming the matches primary antagonist and it's that selfish behaviour that played into the finish of the match. There will be tag matches that will provide more innovative spots, especially those with proper full time tag team pairings but there is little doubt that the four men in the ring here pulled out all the stops.

Post match Eikichi Minamoto grabs a microphone:

'Ichigawa-san you are a great champion, I will give you that, but after Pro Wrestling Festival..that will become past tense, because lets face it I am like you, only superior. Case in point my new submission finish the Akira Takano Tea Club Special....not only does it have a much cooler name, named after someone so cool they can disguise themseves as penguin..it is of course also a much superior version of your own submission move, the blandly named Crucifix Arm Bar....so I'm just like you Ichigawa-san, only younger, better, more charismatic and more likely to sell tickets......

At Pro Wrestling Festival, it's time to take a step back......old.......man.'

Rating: 74

Post Match Comments:

Zodiac: I should be feeling happy that I won a match, and yet I feel irritated....I feel irritated right now by Minamoto-san. I'm pleased he's discovered a competive edge, we should all strive to be the best, but he's become obsessed with trying to show up Ichigawa-san.....he's quickly becoming like those jerks Kuro-Nadeshiko.....Do we really want someone like fighting alongside us?

Prime Dragon: I can only hope after his match against Ichigawa-san that Minamoto-san snaps out of this increasingly arrogant behaviour of his, but I fear that be it win or lose...he will only go to a darker place, I truly am afraid that the Guardians are 'losing' a once competent ally.

Hyotaru Ichigawa: Minamoto-san can boast all he likes about 'his' victory over me here, when it truly matters I will remind him why I am a champion...I will show him the values of a true champion. When all is said in done he will learn humility once again, I will make sure of that.
__________________________________________________ ____________

Overall: 78

Takayuki's Final Verdict: The undercard was slightly underwhelming and this was heading towards being a disappointing show and then the main event happened. Sometimes you get those 'one match shows' but that one-match can send the fans home truly satisfied and happy that they have been to a great show, especially if it's the main event, because the main event is the lasting image the fan will take home with them.

The Fear of Expectation

As we chomped down on some Champon noodles (you've got have some Champon, when in Nagasaki, or at least I always think that) , I had to ask why Zodiac and Prime Dragon put so much effort into the main event of the show we just had put on in Nagasaki. A main event that turned out to be arguably the best match of the year so far during my tenure as DIASPORA's head booker. It's not that I'm not grateful of the effort, I was just surprised by it....for a relatively insignicant show.

'Well, who said that we should always save our best effort for the big shows' chimed in Zodiac

'Zodiac-san here is right, at times we like to give back to the smaller markets, for the fans that come to see us in those regions are just as important to us as those fans in Tokyo or Osaka'' added Prime Dragon

'And besides those fans from Nagasaki and all around Kyushu, had not seen us in a while- so we truly felt we owed it to them to truly do our best and put on something special'

But I had to think that surely we would end up with a worn out roster, and with the fans expecting us to hit the ball out of the park every show, expectations where we would be setting ourselves up to fail by not meeting such lofty standards for every show we put on be it in Bunkyo Hall or in some small market town in the middle of Shikoku.

'Oh we know that every night we cannot produce what we did earlier tonight here in Nagasaki, and I think our fans are informed enough to know that too.'

'Bunkyo Hall shows and the supershows- that is where the fans expect us to pull out all the stops but occasionally just occasionally it's nice to give them a treat on a show such as the one we did don't you think?'

I fully understood what they meant, and it was good to see my bosses in such positive mood. Besides, if I was a fan watching the Nagasaki show...the main event would have gone beyond even my already high expectations and I would have gone away a satisfied customer. We just have to be careful, the next time we visit here, we don't let these fans down, because despite what Zodiac and Dragon said I'm pretty sure expectations have been raised and we need to be ready to rise to that challenge.

DIASPORA's make a trip to the Izumo Civic in Shimane prefecture, Chugoku on Thursday 23rd February, in the final Full Metal Panic! Tour show before the DIASPORA-Pro Wrestling Festival supershow event on Sunday 26th February in Tokyo.

Heavyweight Champion Hyotaru Ichigawa will team with Junior Tag Team Champion Zodiac in front of a 'home' crowd against the Kuro-Nadeshiko duo of GUSHIKEN and Tian Long in the main event, who will be keen to spoil Ichigawa's home-coming and build momentum for their up-coming tag title matches at Pro Wrestling Festival.

The semi main event see's the Guardians of DIASPORA and Kuro-Nadeshiko once again do battle with Eikichi Minamoto teaming with Super Junior champion Prime Dragon and Junior Tag champion Talisman to take on a Kuro trio of leader Sairento alongside Incognito and Chojiro Ono. Minamoto has been a on tear of late, as he builds towards a Heavyweight title showdown with fellow Guardian Hyotaru Ichigawa but his increasingly selfish behaviour has put him at odds with his stable mates and that is something Kuro will surely be clean to exploit, as they look to gain some momentum heading into Pro Wrestling Festival.

In Junior Tag Team action the S.H.I.P duo of Hiroto Nori and Shintaro Hideki face off with the Kuro-Nadeshiko pair of Soh Terajima and Dark Wolf II, in something of a warm up for Hideki and Terajima ahead of their tag match alongside Kotei Yamato and Blood Spider Jr at Pro Wrestling Festival.

Meanwhile S.H.I.P will also be in six man action with the All Asia Tag champions the Tokyo Wrecking Crew (Date & Yamawaki) lining up alongside Kotei Yamato against the trio of ShimiKuma and Shiki Hirasi. Whilst fellow S.H.I.P member Koto Arato will be looking to avoid an upset against the Guardians young powerhouse Taheji Ebisawa in heavyweight singles action.

Rounding out the main show HUSTLE Umiro and Kohei Hidaka meet in junior singles action, Blood Spider Jr and Kan Mitsubishi do battle in an openweight contest and there will be a 4-way featuring Meido Machine, Hideaki Kasuse, Xtinction and Hunter Wolfe. Question is just which Hunter Wolf will turn up?

Pre-show action for fans who come to the Izumo Civic Arena early will be heavyweight singles action between Go Takashi and Yachi Kotara.

Here is a run-down of the full card for Show 14 of the the Full Metal Panic! Tour.....

Hyotaru Ichigawa & Zodiac vs GUSHIKEN & Tian Long
Tough one here as though Ichigawa & Zodiac are slighly stronger, Long might get a win here in order to build him up for his title shot... Still right now GUSHIKEN doesn´t seem to be in heavyweight title hunt so I don´t see much reason to put him over Ichigawa.

Eikichi Minamoto, Prime Dragon & Talisman
vs Sairento, Incognito & Chojiro Ono
Another tough one. Again Guardian trio looks stronger but with Minamoto´s recent attitude they might lose here espesially since I expect the main event to go for the Guardians... still Ono looks like the weak link here so I go with the side who I think is slighly stronger.

Hiroto Nori & Shintaro Hideki vs Dark Wolf II & Soh Terajima
Nori is the top guy here and Terajima is the weak link so everything points on Kuro guys losing here.

Koto Arato vs Taheji Ebisawa
Ebisawa might have suprised me last time by going over Shimizudani but Arato is on totally differend level and Ebisiwa isn´t anywhere near ready to get a win that big yet.

Kotei Yamato, Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki vs Shiki Hirasi, Aki Shimizudani & Horiuchi Inokuma
S.H.I.P over jobber trio.

HUSTLE Umiro vs Kohei Hidaka
Another tough one, I go with HUSTLE but I could easily see this one going the other way too.

Hideaki Kasuse vs Hunter Wolfe vs Meido Machine vs Xtinction
Uhmm... to be honest I don´t see why any of these four guys should get a win. Guess I go with Meido since he has the most going on.

Blood Spider Jr vs Kan Mitsubishi
Yet another tough one, Mitsubishi is more established but I think that you are slighly higher on Blood Spider... I go with more established guy this time.

Go Takashi vs Yachi Kotara
Takashi might be a new guy but he has already showed that he´s above Kotara.

Quick random-so-don't-beat-me-down thought--DIASPORA could use another heel unit (then again I have OCD so odd numbers make me feel weird).

Usually in unit based companies they're usually one heel unit. I know watching Dragon Gate, the only heel unit in there is MAD BLANKEY. Anyways on to predics...

I am personally intrigued about this match mainly to see what happens given Minamoto's recent behavior.

Hiroto Nori & Shintaro Hideki vs Dark Wolf II & Soh Terajima

Koto Arato vs Taheji Ebisawa

Kotei Yamato, Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki vs Shiki Hirasi, Aki Shimizudani & Horiuchi Inokuma

Predictions Form

Hyotaru Ichigawa & Zodiac vs GUSHIKEN & Tian Long

Gushiken and Tian Long are getting up there in age. I suppose Zodiac is too, but I think the Guardians team should take this.

Eikichi Minamoto, Prime Dragon & Talisman vs Sairento, Incognito & Chojiro Ono

Ono looks like the weak link here, but it really could go either way.

Hiroto Nori & Shintaro Hideki vs Dark Wolf II & Soh Terajima

Kuro's B squad isn't beating Nori

Koto Arato vs Taheji Ebisawa

Ebisawa is a future star, but he isn't ready to beat Arato.

Kotei Yamato, Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki vs Shiki Hirasi, Aki Shimizudani & Horiuchi Inokuma

SHIP takes this one pretty easily. More tension between ShimiKuma.

HUSTLE Umiro vs Kohei Hidaka

HUSTLE keeps on hustling.

Hideaki Kasuse vs Hunter Wolfe vs Meido Machine vs Xtinction

Contrary to popular opinion I'll take Kasuse to win here. I figure he can even up the score after HUSTLE beats his partner.

Blood Spider Jr vs Kan Mitsubishi

No Idea here to be honest. I'll say Blood Spider cheats to steal a victory.

Go Takashi vs Yachi Kotara

Takashi beats a jobber.

Result: Horiuchi Inokuma [w] bt Shiki Hirais [L] in 6:25 via pinfall (Kamikochi Suplex)

No shock here, though the rating is lower than expected. Hopefully this was mostly Shiki dragging him down.

Result: Taheji Ebisawa [w] bt Aki Shimizudani [L] in 6:08 via pinfall (Dozer)

Ugh. Aki Janetty didn't impress either. Maybe it's best to leave these guys together.

Result: Sairento [w] bt Meido Machine [L] in 6:54 via pinfall (Death Note)

For a guy who blackmailed his way into DIASPORA Meido is turning into quite a find. He'll never go higher than midcard with that gimmick but he's fun. Sairento was his usual self. I'd love to see Nori charge in to go after Sairento, to keep more heat on their confrontation.

Result: Tian Long won a 10 man Battle Royal in 23:14

Plenty of traditional stuff. Kuro being dicks, Soh getting pwned by Hideki, miscommunication and chaos. Surprised to see Tian Long win though.

Post match Tian Long gets on the microphone

"I would like to thank the owner of DIASPORA, without whom this win would not have been possible."

Result: Hiroto Nori [w], Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki bt Yachi Kotara, Kohei Hidaka & Hideaki Kasuse [L] in 11:15 via pinfall (Endless Nori)

Solid is a good way to describe this. No surprises, but reasonable quality and action.

Kotara planting Nori with the North Light Suplex

I'm guessing we're saving Mio's return for the title match. So that'll be me in the front row talking on my smart phone and yelling “Mio says leave her Nori alone, Kotara!”

Result: GUSHIKEN [w] & Chojiro Ono vs Koto Arato & Go Takashi [L] in 13:56 via pinfall (GUSHIKEN Firebomb)

Yeah, this is a small market card. UNK with the win to no one's surprise. Takashi getrs to show his spirit, Arato had a couple of big moments, and the bigger name team gets the win.

Result: Eikichi Minamoto [w] & Zodiac bt Hyotaru Ichigawa [L] & Prime Dragon in 31:49 via submission (Akira Takano Tea Club Special)

What a main event. It got a full length big match write up, plenty of near falls, plenty of face to face IchiMina brawling. Minamoto's teasing the heel turn, but we'll see if he commits to it or if's it's going to be more of a rivalry with an edge.

so I'm just like you Ichigawa-san, only younger, better, more charismatic and more likely to sell tickets......

Ok, so it looks like he's going heel.

The beauty of symmetry is undeniable.

Hyotaru Ichigawa & Zodiac vs GUSHIKEN & Tian Long

Champ gets his heat back. I don't see anyway GushiLong win this without a screwjob.

Eikichi Minamoto, Prime Dragon & Talisman vs Sairento, Incognito & Chojiro Ono

I have to agree, Ono is a huge glaring weakness for his team in this matchup.

Hiroto Nori & Shintaro Hideki vs Dark Wolf II & Soh Terajima

Nori is the biggest star and Soh needs to get beat down by Hideki more.

Koto Arato vs Taheji Ebisawa

Super Porky gets a much needed win. I'm interested to see what rating this gets, though.

Kotei Yamato, Hiro Date & Oda Yamawaki vs Shiki Hirasi, Aki Shimizudani & Horiuchi Inokuma

SHIP FTW. But expect to see more tension for ShimiKuma.

HUSTLE Umiro vs Kohei Hidaka

Hustle has a little momentum, so I pick him.

Hideaki Kasuse vs Hunter Wolfe vs Meido Machine vs Xtinction

Entertaining throwaway match. I wonder if Wolfe is going to be back with his schoolgirl gimmick or getting revenge on Meido for it?

Blood Spider Jr vs Kan Mitsubishi

Blood Spider is the new guy, but he's show some talent and promise, alot more than Mitsubishi.

Go Takashi vs Yachi Kotara

And no one cares. Match rating of 35 or so.

All too true

As for having only one heel faction, Lo-Drew's right Dragon Gate only reallty ever run with one fully fledged heel stable (and I'm not going to deny that Dragon Gate aren't a real life influence/inspiration for this). There may have been occassions where you might have had some 'tweener' stables I say tweener but more like babyfaces who would become de-facto heels against the main babyface unit- I think certainly during the pre Blood Warriors/Junction III era- you had Kamikaze and Warriors who always felt (well to me anyway) less like full on babyfaces than World-1.

Anyway I've actually been on a bit of a tear this weekend, and apart from the main event matches actually have most of the show written up. So I should get this one out midweek sometime. Maybe that's because.......

1. I'm only 1 show away from the next big PPV show

2. I'm not going to have much time next weekend- real life plans...I won't bore you the detail with.
