I'm ok with starting a whole new game, with new rules, but don't really like the studio idea. I like what Goliath brought up with the 10m to start off with, let the people with money from this game start off with more.
Now with the whole mod playing, I think it is completely fair for a mod to play, I don't see any reason to not let them play. |

Also, a thing that was never really much used on this game was the impact of our decisons. Popularity gains from actors, negotiations effects on future attempts at signing, and other stuff like that. Those were never really taken into account. Not enough at least. It would be good to have more then one mod as it would help to keep track of those things in order to use them when reviewing and negotiating and evaluating the content of a movie. Just my 2 cents. |

For the blockbuster, it's not easy to gauge the progression as too fast and it will be flooded by blockbusters and too slow is well, as you said. All we can do is try to get the perfect balance.
1. Higher starting money New(and old one that likes to start low) player will start with 10M while former players that are successful in their studio management will be given extra resources. I am thinking of their former balance x 10 so one with 3M now will be granted 30M to start. Or x5 if x10 is too high of an advantage to the new players. My mindset for x10 is to simulate a more realistic industry where they are already established studios and new studios. Need to find a balance so it doesn't discourage new players yet give old players incentive to come back and play. 2. Time & Seasonal appeal Quote:
Now, time. My plan is to make it a season a week so we will have a "yearly" award after a month of play time. Talents don't age though as it will be too complicated for a forum game IMO. One movie per season so one movie per week. 3. Events There will also be events out of no where of many kinds. For example: One week I will have a post(out of nowhere) stating that Coca-Cola wanted to sponsor an Action film. The next action film that features the main drinking Coca-Cola will earn $x amount of money. 4. Underrated/Overrated This is something I probably won't implement but just to put it out here. Some movies can be critically acclaimed and failed in the box office and vice versa. It's just rare occasion though, like a 4.5 stars film will not be profiting but I will try to add some side bonuses to cover things up. However, I think this will bring more trouble than needed so I don't plan on doing this. 5. Adjusted talent price If we are starting with 10M, I think we should readjust the talent price to a more based on real life situation like few million for a huge star like Johnny Depp for example but a small star will still be pretty cheap. 6. Monthly competitive system This is a little bit technical I guess and is kind of a more detailed time system. There will be three months per season and studio can choose which month to release their movie. Their movie will "fight" with the movies of that month, mainly for movies of the same genre, and the better rated one will usually come out with the better revenue. This is to provide some extra studio-vs-studio interaction but of course the losing movie won't have its revenue hurt too much since this is mainly for fun. Now, how do we execute this monthly thing(if it is ever implemented)? Month #1 will be Friday, Month #2 Saturday and Month #3 Sunday. So, after Friday, one can only enter their film into Month #2 and Month #3. I will make a list to list out the films that are out on which month, their genre and projected revenue(which is given after a movie is reviewed). Then, the mods will adjust the projected revenue based on the competitors so let's say a 4 star film is projected to earn 20M but it is the top-rated film among 4 films of that month, then the actual revenue is 22M so that particular studio earns 22M out of that movie. However, I understand this is a lot of work and is fine to just go with a more simple seasonal setting. |

Perhaps damonster(since he's already on it) can review the remaining movies of this thread to draw a perfect end to this thread before opening the new one?

Review- Another good movie by Futtbuck Studios. All the actors worked well in this movie and together. The only complaint I have about it is that I felt they did wrap up the storyline between Nicole & William. Revenue: $4 Million. Current Budget: 5,950,150 |

I thought Flame Snoopy wanted only his 1m back, so I should have 6.5m left.

if that's the case, then you get 6.5m & Flame Snoopy gets their money back.
