Default A little part of me dies... every time I see DX.

What I mean by this was the fact that Degeneration X was, quite possibly, the greatest wrestling faction in the 90's (An era that I watched religiously), however, now-a-days they are nothing more than a gimmick tag team.

Now, I know that the very things that made DX popular back in the day (ie: being brash, controversial, sexualized) is not possible in today's WWE. However, this "new" PG level.... Constantly going for the stupid joke... Mindless segments that they subject themselves too is an utter let down.

Also, Shawn Michaels, sadly, is at a level right now where you can't realistically look at him as a title contender. Sure, they could overhaul his push in time... However, when part of DX he seems like a stupid, annoying, little brat (However, not in the good way that he use to be).

Blah. Just a rant on my part.

I miss the 90's.... I know a lot of us do... But, I miss when wrestling had an attitude to it.... When you never knew what could happen each and every week because LITERALLY anything could happen.

Boo. Just simply... Boo.

I watched in the 90's and early 2000's.

I think it ha gotten to boring.

The flash and "pretty boys" kind of ruin it for me. / Along with the crappy story lines.

Pretty obvious you're gonna cringe if you grew up watching the original DX. But DX as they are right now... call me crazy but I don't mind them. They're not the greatest team out there, but they still have their... moments. Well.. >_>

Thing is, many complained about them being 40-year olds acting like rebellious teenagers, and now that they're not doing that anymore... the haterade still continues. Can't have them all, so you know. They're doing the best they can. From a booker's point I'd have brought DX back as well and milked the sh-- out of it too. Looking at how their merch rates, I'd say that's one boat WWE took well care of.

I agree with you. Growing up with DX before was good.

Thev ounger generation seems to like them.

As long as Al Snow does not make a come back I am ok.

Well I have always hated HHH and Shawn Michales with a passion, so they are annoying me just as much as they ever have.

I agree.

I don't have any problems with DX at all, and find them amusing in a good way.

I don't think the WWE really changed with the PG thing either, they were already PG... Except for the Diva contests once in a while, and the..... Less then desirable angle's that were a bit tasteless.

Outside of that, I see no difference, this is what they been doing for the last four or five years anyways.

Personally, I miss the 80's, and a little part of me dies every time I see WWE and TNA do... pretty much anything it seems. Beyond that though, Hornswoggle, (though surprisingly not as much lately), Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble getting pwned every time you turn around, and Evan Bourne taking on the role of 'Jobber To The Stars' are the big things giving me grief nowadays.

DX doesn't really do anything for me, no, and sometimes I think they're trying too hard to be funny, but I really can't say I mind them too much.

But then, I've always been an HBK fan, so I guess maybe I'm able to overlook some stuff.

Greater than the nWo? No way. The original Michaels/HHH DX was interesting, but the nWo was just far better. It may have gotten watered down over time, but the early days of the nWo were, for my money, one of the most entertaining and fun periods in wrestling history.

I agree with the main point of your post, BTW. When I first realized they were about to reform DX in...2006, I think it was, I immediately stopped watching Raw. They were an interesting act 12 years ago or whatever it was, but I have no interest in seeing it rehashed in the present. Haven't really watched Raw with any regularity since then.

I have hated HBK going back to when he was with the Rockers. And over time my opinion has never changed. Now I am not saying he is not a great worker, because he is.

I knew this was coming...

The classic "DX or nWo - Who was better war". ha. All in all, I didn't really mean to rain on the nWo's parade. Just felt, for me, that DX was more compelling in a way.

No I agree with you on his talent, he was always a good talent. Maybe the way I worded what I was trying to say did not come across that way.
