Default IWA Mid South: Loyal and Local

This diary is mainly used as a stopgap until Superduperindymania. It is using the T-Zone data which I am currently working on, which is not yet complete. I was devoting all my free time to the update but with the update as well as Uni work I need relief, hence this diary is born.

Ian Rotten decided that enough was enough, IWA Mid South needed to cut costs, the King of the Deathmatches underwent radical changes and all shows over the rest of October were cancelled.

Those loyal to Ian took pay cuts and such but the following people will not be used on future shows as of this time:-

D’Lo Brown
Referee Rudy Charles
Matt Bentley
Billy Gunn
Ben Jordan
Zach Gowen
Samoa Joe

With the release of Ben Jordan for the time being the announcing duties for DVD’s will be undertaken by “Best in the Midwest” Kevin Harvey and Joey Eastman. IWA may have intentions to bring more people into the company for an announcing role in the near future.

The general focus will be on the “loyal” and “local” talents as the fight to keep IWA alive begins.

OOC:So that’s that, no phantom “I’m the booker….” Malarkey, just good and honest stuff. I’m not acting as the booker, I’m just telling the tale with Ian as booker.

As can be seen, the venue of the KOTDM was also altered due to cost cutting measures..

End of Week 1 October update

Welcome here to the update here on IWAMidsouthWrestling.com, we will begin today with three huge names announced this week for the King of the Deathmatches 2005.

The first is a hardcore icon north of the Border up in Quebec, whilst the second is also well known in them parts and the third is well known just about anywhere. Firstly we bring to you the EVIL NINJA!!!

Hailing from up North, Evil Ninja or Evil Ninja #2 as he is sometimes known has appeared in the United States before in a tournament of a similar nature. That time around he lost in the CZW Tournament of Death 3 First Round to fellow IWS star The Arsenal. Many feel Ninja could be a sleeper for this tournament but one man who may feel they could stop him is our next announced participant, IWS owner himself PCP CRAZY ****ING MANNY!!!

Manny has had dealings both good and bad in his company with Evil Ninja and would relish the opportunity to meet him at some point in this tournament. One man who Manny would not relish facing is our final competitor announced this week, “THE FUTURE OF HARDCORE” NICK F’N GAGE!!!

Gage is known as the future of hardcore, not just off rumours spread by himself and Justice Pain but by hard(core) grafting in various Deathmatches for CZW including being set on fire and continuing the match at this years Tournament of Death.

This takes the field to 16 with only two more names to be announced for the big tournament, which is as follows:-

1. 2 Tuff Tony
2. Axl Rotten
3. Balls Mahoney
4. Bull Pain
5. Corporal Robinson
6. “The Notorious 187” Homicide
7. JC Bailey
8. “Spyder” Nate Webb
9. Necro Butcher
10. Tank
11. “The Metalhead” Steve Stone
12. “The Last of a Dying Breed” Eddie Kingston
13. Ryan Boz
14. Evil Ninja
15. "The Future of Hardcore" Nick Gage
16. PCP Crazy ****ing Manny
17.???
18.???

The next point to address is additions to the card for “Moshin in Morris”

Three more matches have been announced for this show with the first being the IWA:MS Heavyweight Title showdown between the current champion Jimmy Jacobs and the bad ass from SoCal, Super Dragon.
Many feel that Jacobs has cheated his way to victories to hold onto his title but against someone as tough as Dragon, could this be the end of the line for Jacobs?

The Tag Team Title scene has been hotting up and the Iron Saints will have a tough job holding onto the tag team titles as they take on three of the best teams IWA has to offer in an elimination match. Those three teams are 21 and Irresponsible (Josh Abercrombie and Brandon Thomaselli), Team Underground (Chandler McClure and Eric Priest) and Pomp and Circumstance (Ace Rockwell and Shaun Tempers).
All four teams are capable of holding the gold come the end of the night at Shabbona Middle School and it should be a great athletical contest.

The final match announced for now for that show is a return match for Japanese superstar Kudo from the DDT promotion. He will be taking on a man who can be very unpredictable at times in Delirious.

Finally for today is the announcement of the from now on permanent commentary team for future IWA shows. The terrific trio will be Kevin Harvey, Jim Fannin and Bryce Remsburg.

That is all for this week from the offices of IWA.

End of Week 2 October update

Welcome here to the update here on IWAMidsouthWrestling.com as we have some huge news to start us off today.

On Sunday December 11th IWA:MS has “Everything to Gain” as we return to the New Alahambra in Pennsylvania. This will be a huge night for everyone in attendance and will take place after the CHIKARA show earlier in the day.

Already announced are three huge matches that are considered dream matches from different people.

First up is a rematch from the Ted Petty Invitational final as the last two Matt Sydal and Kevin Steen will square off one on one. If Sydal manages to take the Heavyweight title from Jimmy Jacobs, the title will be on the line in this match.
Steen feels he needs to gain retribution for losing to Sydal in the finals of the TPI.

Secondly is a match that many people have been wanting for a long time as Super Dragon takes on the Necro Butcher. This promises to be one hell of a stiff match and people wanting to know what to expect should check out Samoa Joe v Necro Butcher from our last visit to the Tri-State area.

Finally for now announced for this show is a huge tag team encounter between the team of Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero and Arik Cannon and a partner of his choice.
Cannon has shocked his opponents by naming his partner right off the bat as Mike Quackenbush. This contest should be a great match if Cannon and Hero have not already killed each other in Morris first.

Now onto the King of the Deathmatches and more IWS participation possibly.

IWS Commentator Brian the Guppie was seemingly jealous that Manny and Evil Ninja will be taking part in this tournament and so contacted us with an offer we couldn’t refuse.

Brian told us that if we leave a spot open for him he will deliver a world class deathmatch worker who will walk out as the 2005 KOTDM.

The final participant to be announced is a former CZW Tournament of Death winner (TWICE) as Wifebeater will return from his hiatus from wrestling to participate in the tournament.

This leaves the final men for King of the Deathmatches 2005 as

1. 2 Tuff Tony
2. Axl Rotten
3. Balls Mahoney
4. Bull Pain
5. Corporal Robinson
6. “The Notorious 187” Homicide
7. JC Bailey
8. “Spyder” Nate Webb
9. Necro Butcher
10. Tank
11. “The Metalhead” Steve Stone
12. “The Last of a Dying Breed” Eddie Kingston
13. Ryan Boz
14. Evil Ninja
15. Nick Gage
16. PCP Crazy ****ing Manny
17. Brian the Guppies Mystery Man
18. Wifebeater

Over the next few weeks we will announce stipulations and first round pairings.

Before the KOTDM we have Moshin in Morris in roughly 2 weeks, the card is already stacked and now two more matches are announced right here this week.

The NWA/IWA Indiana State Title will be on the line as El Drunko defends against Ring of Honor student Davey Andrews. Andrews could pull off the shock and take El Drunko’s Title. What part may “Spyder” Nate Webb play in this match?

In the other match announced this week the IWA Women’s title will be on the line as Mickie Knuckles defends against Ms. Chif, Daizee Haze, Sara Del Ray, Jennifer Carlisle and Lacey in a six way elimination match.

That’s all for this week visit next week for more info on all upcoming shows.

This is a good read but you have too many spoilers from past events. I was actually in the process of watching the TPI from this year and you done gone and ruined it for me, well not really ruined, but you definatly took some of the suspense out...

I'll keep reading if you keep posting.

Yeah. I love the IWA-MS. I'll be reading, especially if you push Sydal to the moon.

End of Week 3 October Update

Welcome here to the update here on IWAMidsouthWrestling.com, we start today with a message we received from Brian the Guppie from an Undisclosed location.

He told us he is scouring the globe for the wrestler that can win him the KOTDM, sadly he said Ito was busy, Abdullah the Butcher was too crazy to handle and Terry Funk was out of his price range so he’ll have to keep looking.

Just added to Moshin in Morris is a singles encounter between two young lions, one of which you have seen before on various occasions, Darin Corbin. His opponent comes all the way from California and is widely regarded as a fantastic prospect for the future, his name is Joey Harder. Harder is considered one of the best in recent times to come out of the Pro Wrestling Iron dojo.

Added to our return to Philly is a huge match that will see Alex Shelley returning to an IWA ring to take on one half of 21 and Irresponsible, Brandon Thomaselli. Brandon is regarded as one of the best in IWA at present time but it will take a lot for him to defeat Alex Shelley.

Finally for today, a British showcase match has been announced for Night one of the King of the Deathmatches as Jonny Storm will be taking on Nigel McGuinness in what promises to be a great match.

Don’t forget to check back this time next week to see the final card for Moshin in Morris plus maybe more on Brian the Guppies KOTDM entrant and our return to the ECW Arena.
