Default C-Verse vs. Real World

I always see people on the Wrestling part of this website talk about this, so it got me thinking I wonder what the WMMA fans think about this subject. Which do you like better the real world or the C-verse?

I like the C-Verse better, nothing against the real world mods because they are great, but for some reason, much like TEW, I like the fictional world better. I think part of the reason is the regeneration of fighters. I have no problem seeing Matthew Dean's picture showing up on a new fighter after his retirement. However, I have a huge problem seeing BJ Penn's face showing up on a new fighter after his retirement.

I like the data of a lot of the real world mods, but they aren't really "complete" in the sense that the C-Verse is with the game. With no backgrounds on pictures and the prescence of body pictures, it really does so much to make the game feel whole.

I actually thought I would have a harder time loving the cornelverse in this one than in tew but I find the opposite is true.

My only problem is there isn't even a possibility of smaller weight divisions in the cornelverse, such as Flyweight or Strawweight. There are just no fighters in the cornelverse small enough to fit into those divisions.......

You can always use the fighters from the render thread and add them to the database and make them eligable for the flyweight division.

I'm a C-Verse man myself.

IMHO there is just too many under and overrated fighters in the real world databases and it bugs the hell out of me so I don't play with them as often.

Yeah I am having the same issue Penn, St. Pierre, and Anderson are cleaning out my division with no decent challengers available.

I use MW.5 from time to time but for the most part I prefer to use the default database. The main reason is that no matter how well a real world mod is made alot of the results still aren't going to be very realistic. Due to randomness of the game you will always get somebody who does better than they should which takes the realism out of the game. With the C-Verse, however, it is much easier to "believe" it when a big upset happens since you don't go into the game with any pre-existing expectations.

Is there any way to use a combination of both the real world mod and the Cornell-verse mod?

I've never used a real world mod so I don't really know, but it might be cool if you could start out as a 'real' organization with real fighters, but have the cornell verse guys introduced into the game as it went along ... That would be like more realistic as right now we don't know who will be a new fighter coming along in the next 5-10 years, but you could use the created guys to help simulate that.

Is that a possibility? Would be very cool to have some of the UFC and real world guys start to age and then see some of the 'stars of tomorrow' (Cornellverse guys) start to pop onto the scene ...

Possible?

With a lot of work, it's possible.

Download a real-world mod, then import all the C-Verse fighters into said data. Then, edit all the C-Verse fighters' birthyear and debut time to your liking and you're all set.

That would be kind of cool. I'm surprised no one has done that as a mod before?

If you did that, would you still also receive regular UFC and real life MMA guys retiring and getting regenned, or could you make it so the only regenned guys are the totally new C-verse folks?

Two ways to do that.

#1. Turn off regeneration, and set the C-Verse fighters to only debut in the future.

#2. Keep regeneration on, and edit all the real-world fighters so they do not regenerate.

I myself am surprised, in TEW there's a few mods combining the two worlds.

I did it with ToS and the C-Verse. Its ok and fun enough I guess, but i just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
