Default BBCF / TPF has competition...lol

Get this... EA is getting in on the act.

http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?i...ategory=gamers

Electronic Arts has announced a third game in its NFL lineup, NFL Head Coach (working title). While EA's Madden series offers traditional sim football and NFL Street gives gamers the over-the-top arcade feed, NFL Head Coach will allow gamers to don the headset and take control of every facet of an NFL head coach's job, from drawing up plays to leading their team on Sunday.

While most sports strategy games offer a flat, static interface, NFL Head Coach will offer full 3D graphics. The game will also be available for consoles while most games in the genre are PC exclusives. Developer EA Tiburon is making it a point to provide the game with enough depth for hardcore purists, while maintaining flexibility for newcomers.

NFL Head Coach is scheduled for release on PC, PS2, and Xbox next spring.

Saw that two weeks ago in my college paper. It's not competition, EA will botch it severely

It doesn't, but he's one of the producers of the game. At least, I know he works for EA as a Technical Art Group Manager, and I remember SkyDog confirming that he's working with EA on this title over at FOFC.

One thing we know it will be full of if its an EA product:
1. Bells
2. Whistles

Game content is secondary.

Wow, you're all fanboys. Give it shot. Atleast EA will actually release this game next Spring as advertised.. Bowl Bound might not even be out by then.

You're kidding, right? EA can't even make good games in it's core genre - there's a 0% chance of them making a good game in the highly dynamic and subtle world of text-based sport sims.

Every game EA makes does a horrific job of replicating real life...all they are is eye candy. That's fatal for this genre. It's not being a fanboy...it's being realistic.

FOF > TPF >>>>>> Anything EA sports releases (inc their facked-up version of FOF a few years back)

OOTP > BM >>>>> Anything EA sports releases

TPB > FBB >>>>> Anything EA sports releases

BB ~ TCY >>>>>> Anything EA sports releases

Any questions?

For what it's worth, they were aggressively seeking new blood to help with the product.

It does not mention if it supports multi-player.

Just guessing but even if it has multi-player, because of the NFL license, it will most likely only allow 32 team NFL leagues. For many people that was a deal breaker with TPF.

I bet EA, at some point, regrets the day that Joe Stallings was acquainted with this game.

Ya, i got a question.....who made you god...how do you know what a game little is known about will be like....I for one love the NCAA football series by ea....i get alot of enjoyment playing that....right now, i doubt BBCF, or TCY could be better, at least to me....I also enjoy, i dont know...actually playing games instead of simming them once and a while.....i know EA doesnt make the same type of games as grey dog, but whats wrong with trying.

My son enjoys the NCAA series and is looking forward to the College Baseball game ... but that is completely different than OOTP, FOF, TPF, and the other games in the text sim series of games.. My son does not like OOTP,TPF, TDCB, etc. .... he does not "sim" he plays the game with the "joystick".
