![]() Should be.. 9 hours 24 minutes and 23 seconds at 67% so far. Should start speeding up soon. Its only going so slow because of the hair. Its a portrait view which goes from the head to just below the shoulders. Its at the chin currently but the hair is far less from now on |

Jimminy Cricket, that's awesome! I love the pooling color effect of her eyes, and am amazed you can count the hairs on her head. lol
Now what you should do is tilt her head up a tad, to give her better lighting, and re-render. ![]() *Runs off before Clarity can mutilate him!* |

Oh no, same lighting, just a different angle of her head. So she'd take another 3 days to come up.
I wouldn't actually, though, `cause she came out looking fantastical. |

Forgot to render it behind something and add a shirt. Just put some mosaics on the chest and popped it on background + drop shadow. Will re-render later.
![]() Clarity, as you can see the skin looks grainy. I'm using uberenvironment2 for lighting, and I dropped max error and shading rate as low as possible. Still, I can't get rid of the graininess entirely. I could fix it with post work easily enough, but if there is something I can tweak in my actual Daz setup I'd prefer to do that. Any ideas on how I can improve it? Is the texture I'm using here just possibly too low res? I'll try another render out tomorrow with something much more high resolution and see if that cleans it up. This is one of my favorites to render with, but this lighting seems to bring out all of its flaws. ![]() |

although i believe making the hair matte speeds it up a littleBut essentially: Occlusion samples = MAX Shading rate = 8 Max Error = 0.1 |

That's amazing.
I honestly didn't even know it was possible to render stuff like that with Daz/Poser. Is that an M4 elite texture or a custom texture? Amazing work either way. The lips and beard are unbelievable. And the red in the eyes is a nice touch. I miss little details like that when rendering. ![]() As for the lighting, your tip did the trick. ^_^ ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Hey, what does this mean? Quote:
Indirect lighting (w/ soft and directional shadows) takes much longer to render and doesn't really seem to yield better results (just different), so I've stayed stuck to occlusion based lighting so far. Last edited by Kobe1724 : 04-24-2010 at 03:47 PM. |

Your results however, were amazing. Ah mask making - I love it and hate it in equal measure. Making transmaps is pretty simple once you've got a base lined up properly. As Clarity posted, use the increasing the size of the trans map and overlaying it for the initial texture is the easiest way to quickly 'border' around the portions that will be transparent. |

All these renders are amazing! But can someone put some of them with a face pic in the blue TEW background?
