That's actually one of the first things I thought of, and it didn't satisfy the condition of his contract. I'm guessing he has to actually win or defend the title in a match for it to count.

Well, that sucks. Considering he's going to be out for 22 months anyway, it's not a big deal anyway.

This is a booking question, didn't see any others have their own thread so figure I'd ask in here.

WrestleMania 3 is coming up for me and I want Hogan to drop the title but not to Andre. I have the match set up for Andre vs Hogan. I'm thinking of having Hogan win but kayfabe beat up so badly they have to stretcher him out after the match. This would take the title off Hogan and have Andre still come out looking strong.

I'm listening to others thoughts and ideas if you can come up with something better. I'm trying to stay with the times and I know the world, quite literally, would be in shock if Hogan was stretchered out after his match. Too risky for the times?

Don't think it would be 'too risky' for the times, many promotions - including the WWF - ran injury angles during this time period, but I don't think at WrestleMania III it would be the right move...I'd give Hogan the feel good moment at WrestleMania then maybe have an angry Andre (plus maybe 1 or 2 more heels from the Heenan family) attack Hogan on tv a week later, leading Hogan to vacate the belt since he can't defend it

Yeah, that does sound a lot better. Also, where it says 'give time off', could I give Hogan the month off and not have any backlash from him? I don't know what this does exactly and am too scared to ruin my game by trying it. If I do run the angle, I think I'd give him time off and keep him off TV until the next super show.

No negative effects, except you can't bring him back before the end of the one month...it actually gives the worker a morale boost and as far as I know, his pop will stay the same...I uses vacations alot so I can rotate wrestlers in and out of the promotion...If you just don't use him for several shows, his morale will go in the toilet so it's a good idea to send him away

I have been playing TEW since the 2008 version came out, but I have never played the CornellVerse. I don't know why, really, it has just never done anything for me. I have only played real-world mods, but now I really want to give the CornellVerse a try.

So my question is, what is a good promotion for a newbie to start off with? Someone who has never played the CornellVerse before. I'm looking for a WWE-style promotion, with focus on entertainment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

SWF is probably the closest to the WWE, with USPW also being a possibility.

~~~
So here's a small "question": Who did not know that Tommy Cornell Jr., debuting in 2025, is the last person in the default data to debut? I suppose this might be why rangens start at 2026 (or is it 2016? I changed it to 2010 ._.)
I checked this because I was going to do a diary on a time-warped youngest guy in the data. But yeah, not going to make the Cornell Connection. Unless I wanted to make Jennifer Cornell active and do a very tasteful Oedipus storyline.
Main reason why I'm not is I'm not sure how gouging out one's eyes would affect one's stats...
And there we go:
How would gouging out one's eyes affect one's stats? Or, more generally, going blind?
You know, this isn't a particularly good joke.
Hmm, just a curious question, I suppose.. This time.
Does it have any effect for a team that is inactive, and no longer going under the banner of teaming, like say inactivate The Syndicate, Cornell and Hawkins, but still have them team once and a while.. Would that still up the team experience?
I can see some random teamings don't and won't gain experience, but maybe under a teaming banner, possibly?
Inactive teams gain no benefit, so they don't gain experience OR the experience bonus.
The SWF is probably the most 'WWE-like', in that it's the biggest and based most on Sports Entertainment, owned by a very McMahon-like family, etc.
USPW are also very entertaintmenty but have always felt more WWA/XFW (was that the name of that promotion Hogan started ages ago?) to me. They're owned by the Cornellverse's answer to Hulk Hogan.
TCW are more pre-Hogan-TNA-like, in that they're reasonably big and more wrestling-focused.
They all have rather large rosters though, which might not be great for someone trying to get into the universe. Maybe try CGC up in Canada? Smaller roster, but a very similar product to the SWF.
I am a big fan of starting your own promotion adjusting the product to your liking and move at your own pace. That being said MAW is awsome to get your feet wet.
