North Of The Border Pro Wrestling: Taking it to the big boys
 The Set Up January 2010. A lot has changed in two years of professional wrestling. Many have arrived, many have left, promotions have died out or risen from the ashes and wrestling is better as a whole for it. However one thing has shocked a vast majority of the wrestling world. What was never expected to happen, happened. The impact it made. Well that can only really be seen as a guess in the long run. However as the short term is happening the thing that can be proved is shock values work. The most over man in the country. The most hated heel in a promotion. The bad guy, the rebel with a cause, the main event attraction. This is January 2010 and as North Of The Border Pro Wrestling looks set to possibly be able to make a break in the United States and continue to over power in Canada only one question can be asked.... Who rules?  DeColt Rules! Some Background As many of you know this isn't my first diary attempt (but hey the past is the past and with all the help this game gives me I should be able to suceed), NOTBPW also has no starting storylines unlike companies like SWF and TCW however this isn't seen as a problem for me as I can already invision in my head what will happen up until about March or April at least with the company. Predictions will happen in the diary and at the conclusion of the month's PPV the top predictor will get a prize. I do plan with this game to take NOTBPW over to the US at some point and try to build up the company to a higher level. There will be regular monthly updates on the game world for other feds. A Little Bit about Me
So I’m guessing introductions are in order. You haven’t said your name yet? Oh I guess you’re waiting for mine then. The name is Thomas. Seth Thomas. For the last 7 years I’ve been hounding around the circuit in Canada looking for my big break, hoping to land with one of the big two. No I don’t mean TCW or SWF either I mean the real big two; North of the Border and Canadian Golden Combat. Since 2008 I’ve been on the radar too. Scouts watching, fans praising, people taking note. At 28 years old I finally got that call, there was something about it that sent shivers down my spine. The legendary Dan Stone on the phone to me, asking for my services in his promotion. This is where it got tricky, Dan also mentioned how Victoria was stepping down as head booker, she wanted to take that little break from full responsibility and spend some more time at home. He knew she would be one of the main targets for the ownership of the company once he stepped down so it was in his best intentions to let her have her break and avoid burnout. I really didn’t know what to say. So I just let him continue, he talked of how he knew of my credentials backstage, how I was a leader and at times a booker on the Indy scene; if only to get extra money. But there were better targets in his company alone that could do it...unless he didn’t want to show favouritism. Would you really turn down the chance of your lifetime just because you were scared? Wednesday, Week 3, December, 2009 So the big news had been the talk of the wrestling world, "The Canadian Hero" Steve DeColt was now apart of North Of The Border. Add to that little fact with the biggest fact of all, the self proclaimed "Wrestling Icon" was now atop the North Of The Border ladder with his hands on the Canadian championship. In less than two weeks it would be up to me to keep the momentum machine that is DeColt on overdrive...but bigger matters came first.... NOTBPW Headquarters, Nova Scotia, Canada I sat myself down inside a large boardroom waiting patiently for the arrivals. Sat only with a laptop I had been using to jot down ideas of possible storylines the company could take forward at Big City Brawl and then onto Clash Clinic. With Victoria stepping down little storylines were being made to run out the year but as such, January 1st 2010, I had full control of the booking. Speaking of Miss Stone thats when the door opened...my preverbial firing squad had arrived.      The five most respected people in North Of The Border all walked in one after the other, Sean enterting last and closing the door behind him. As they sat down arranged around the table, Dan Senior facing me with Victoria and Sean on one side of the table and Dan Junior and Jeremy on the other, I could tell this was never going to be a meeting like I'd had before. Dan Stone: Mr Thomas, its nice to be greeted with your prescene once again, we do hope you're settling into Nova Scotia alright. Myself: Umm...well its a bit different to Calgary but I'm sure in no time I'll be able to find my feet sir. Dan Stone: Please just call me Dan. Sir is...too power hungry for me. That made me think. Dan Stone not a power hungry man. Perhaps this explains how he never decided to challenge the US Market at all. Victoria seemed to be stirring at the side, preparing to speak as she looked at Sean who seemed disinterested in the whole thing. Victoria Stone: The family has called you here today Seth because we want to make sure your transition into my job is as easy as it can possible be... And that made me think more. She didn't sound too pleased to be giving up the reigns to me, Sean wasn't as pleased looking either, me thinks I took his job maybe... Victoria Stone: You have in front of you a 'welcome booklet' if you will. Inside it you will find a lot of information as to how we expect you to run your job while here at North Of The Border. We hold ourselves in the highest standard in professional wrestling and I would like to think that you could also be a good fit to that mold. She spoke so much, you would almost think she had the company in her hands now, very powerful, very masterful...incredibly sexy. I could tell this job had some perks. Dan Stone Jr: Seth I'd like to personally introduce myself and Jeremy to you. We have been working as the go between for Victoria and the roster in recent years and if you need any assistance in getting the best from the troops then just speak to myself...or Jeremy...or Sean...Sean? SEAN! Sean McFly: Whu...what...yeh what he said... The whole family just looked at Sean. I kinda felt sorry for him, in all reality he could be headlining SWF right now, not stuck in a meeting he has no real business being involved in... I mean c'mon he nailed the bosses daughter and now he's gettng input into the company...I have nevvvver heard that before  Dan Stone: I think thats all for now Seth, if you make sure that you're at the TV show next week for your chance to meet the roster then from there we can take it how we like. Myself: Uh yeh cheers Mr St...Dan. I'll make sure I'm about. I'll let myself out shall I. All 5 nodded in one. Seriously it was cool. I stood up taking away my booklet and proceeded to read the pages upon pages of information I was given. The most that stood out to me was how I wouldn't be allowed to bring anyone in without a standard at the basic wrestling moves and stamina (Both at D Grade), No wrestler seen as bigger than a big heavyweight would be allowed in and no former Mixed Martial Arts talent would be allowed on the roster. Admittedly a few workers now out of the question, but the think tank is still in overdrive. Seth Thomas

Friday, Week 3, December, 2009  Jeremy Stone: Why don't I show you around then aye? This place is awesome. Simply the first words that came into my head when I walked through the hallowed doors. I had entered... The House Of Stone The House Of Stone Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada This place was everything ever talked about, ever witnessed in the magizines, ever talked about in wrestling venues across Canada. The House Of Stone, the prinicipal in wrestling training...and I was finally stepping foot into it. Jeremy seemed a nice enough bloke, a huge presence backstage and he would always be a big part of North Of The Border for as long as he wanted to be. He led me through a hallway filled with trophies from the boys amateur wrestling days, pieces of wrestling history just scattered along the walls and cupboards, everything neatly positioned with full view to see. He then took me through to the kitchen where a number of young gentlemen were sat eating what looked to be pure meat as a snack. Even diet was controlled here, I could see why they had so many amazing names graduate from here. Jeremy's mother was stood at the kitchen cooker making up more food as Jeremy positioned himself in front of the trainee's. Jeremy Stone: Seth, these are some of the latest trainees at the House Of Stone, we have a number of people stay with us during their training if they have come from a fair distance away. I just nodded. You could see the proudness in Jeremy's eyes, that he was apart of such a great thing. Jeremy Stone: Seth anything to say to the students? Myself: Umm.....yeh just one thing, this man is the best in the business I pointed at Jeremy listen to everything he says, one day you may get to work with me because of his help. Jeremy nodded his head and slapped me on the back almost to give me a nudge as to move on. We kept moving down towards the basement, the control room of The House Of Stone. As we opened a door and made our way down the steps Jeremy pointed towards the room where a man was seen running backwards and forwards against the ring ropes getting almost exhausted but still continuing. Jeremy Stone: See that man in the ring...you see him? I nodded his name is Damian Cargill but you probably will know him as The Natural...  Myself: He is pretty impressive my friend. We stood and watched for a moment at the pure stamina of Cargill in one of his workouts before his next class. He was the assistant trainer at the House a student himself and wanted to show the best he could for the company he worked for and cherished. Jeremy Stone: Damian! C'mon over here I have someone for you to meet. Ryan moved slowly over looking exhausted as he could be. This is Seth Thomas, he's taking over from Vicky in January. The Natural: So this is the man aye? He shook my hand as he checked out how I looked Well good luck buddy, with the momentum we have its going to take a powerful person to keep the wheels aligned...Fancy a training session? Hmm...a chance to show Jeremy Stone what I could do in the ring, perfect. I cautiously stepped between the ropes as Jeremy began barking out orders of moves and reversals to which myself and Damian just seemed to click with at every moment. Possible storylines maybe? It could happen, The Natural was looking to break through the glass ceiling that is the Stone connection. Being here was sure enough gonna do that. After about 10 minutes, exhausted I stepped out the ring and sat down on the ring edge taking in some heavy breaths. Jeremy Stone: from what I could tell looking over at The Natural he looks tired...better get him training some more before we put him in a ring aye? I heard Damian laugh as Jeremy got down to my level Impressive Seth, takes a lot to survive the House Of Stone...you seemed like you would of fit right in. How I wanted to thank him for that one moment, however my phone began to suddenly start ringing. Lifting myself off the ring and over to where my phone was I tried to take in some breaths before speaking. Myself: He...hello... The voice on the other end sounded so historic I knew instantly who it was as he uttered his first word. Dan Stone Sr: Seth, It's Dan senior, was hoping I could see you at some point tomorrow, along with Jeremy. I know you're at the house tonight looking round at the training....that could explain why I can still hear you breathing so heavy. Woops Dan Stone Sr: Anyhow Seth, if I leave you the address can you make sure you'll meet me there 10am tomorrow? Myself: Yeh sure. And you can safely assume that DeColt will not be the only name being brought in to the fold when this starts up I'm writing the next part up now however I have a feeling I may wait until tomorrow to post it so I can work it some more and mess about with my photobucket account getting everything set up
