I'd like to see a little more depth in the PPV/TV area.
1) TV/PPV Deal Hierarchy: In the game, your only real option for TV shows are to be used as Fight Night type programming. However in real life, orgs without PPV deals use their TV shows as their main program. MFC and Bellator, etc., don't have numbered house shows and then run an occasional tv show. Until an org has a PPV deal, their numbered events should air on TV. It's more realistic that way. 2) Regional differences in PPV/TV: Much like the way TEW utilizes Touring Promotions to simulate Japanese style wrestling, I'd like to see the next version of the game reflect the differences between Japanese MMA and the rest of the world. The PPV structure works for most of the world, but in Japan there is no real system for PPV. The main source of income for promotions is landing deals on the major tv networks, and negotiating sponsorships to front the cash. |

I agree. I think the current system is based around the early UFC days where they started out on PPV and too A LONG TIME to garner enough interest in network programming.
Nowadays, a promotion like Bellator gets a rather significant cable network deal after one season and started out on a tiny network like ESPN Desportes. Even WEC started out on the tiny HDNet building up their brand before getting the somewhat larger Versus deal. Now, after nine years, they are finally trying to run a PPV show. I would like to see the game transition into a present day game with default data starting in 2009 or 2010 and allowing us to go back in time, if we choose, through mods. For those attached to the early 2000's start, keep the existing Cornellverse as an option to start a game with while also having a new default data based in present day. |
